Xeriscaping is when you design a landscape to be water efficient. Primarily it started in areas prone to long droughts (California, New Mexico). Xeriscaping in the Lower Mainland and across Canada is becoming more popular to its simplicity, efficiency and sustainability. In BC we often see a deluge of rain between September and June, but the hot season is slowly growing and we have seen an increase in temperatures over the years.
